08 RAV4

The RAV4 seats five and has an available third-row seat (that folds flat into the cargo floor) that increases its capacity to seven.

All trims are available with either a 2.4-liter, 166 hp inline-4 and four-speed automatic transmission or a 3.5-liter, 269 hp V6 and five-speed automatic transmission.

All V6 RAV4's come with Downhill Assist Control and Hill-start Assist Control. All six models are available with front-wheel or full-time all-wheel drive.

In 2008, the Toyota RAV4 receives standard driver and front-passenger seat-mounted, side-impact airbags and first and second row side-curtain airbags with roll-over sensors.

09 RAV4

The 2009 Toyota RAV4 has a new four-cylinder engine and a revised grille and front bumper, redesigned tail lamps and rear step bumper.

 

08 Highlander

Mid-size crossover SUV.

It promises top-notch quality, durability and reliability. Redesigned for 2008,

the Toyota Highlander is now bigger and more powerful.

Offered in front-wheel or all-wheel drive all models are powered by a 270-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission. With the rear and third row seats folded there is almost 15 cubic feet more interior volume than the 2007 model.

Three rows of seats enable the Highlander to seat 7 people. The second row features reclining and sliding captain's chairs that can be converted to a bench seat for three passengers using a center seat cushion. Safety features include anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and vehicle stability control with electronic power steering. A stand-alone backup camera is fitted on all but the base model.

The Toyota Highlander is redesigned for 2008.

Highlander

a seven-passenger mid-size sport utility vehicle, engineered with Toyota's legendary quality and designed to stand out. A smooth performer, the Highlander also provides a spacious, flexible interior and progressive safety technologies.

The Highlander is offered in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, each with three trim levels: Base, Sport and Limited. All models are powered by a 270-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine, coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission with sequential manual shift mode. Every Highlander is outfitted with alloy wheels, air conditioning, cruise control and a flat-fold third row seat. Sport trims add larger 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and front fog lights, while Limited trims get the luxury of leather upholstery and automatic climate control, along with a six-disc CD changer. Additionally, all but Base trims are equipped with a rearview camera monitor, as well as a flip-up rear glass window in the liftgate for quick access to the cargo area. Standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic vehicle stability and traction control systems, active anti-whiplash front head restraints, front side-impact airbags and overhead curtain airbags for all three rows.

After an extensive redesign in 2008, the Toyota Highlander carries over unchanged for 2009.

 

08 Matrix

The Toyota Matrix combines the style and fun of a sport coupe with the utility of a small SUV.

The front-wheel drive 2008 Toyota Matrix is available in two trims: Matrix and XR. Both are powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 126 horsepower and a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Safety is enhanced by ordering optional side curtain and seat-mounted side-impact airbags. Optional Vehicle Stability Control, traction control and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution help the driver maintain control in an emergency.

The 2008 Toyota Matrix is a carryover from 2007. It is redesigned for the 2009 model year.

09 Matrix

The Toyota Matrix combines the style and spirit of a sports car and the functionality of a small sport utility vehicle with the affordability of a compact sedan. For 2009, this popular 5-door hatchback has been completely redesigned, with sleeker styling, an enhanced interior, heightened performance and additional safety features.

The Toyota Matrix is available in three front-wheel drive trim levels (Base, S and XRS) and one all-wheel drive trim level (S). The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in the Base trim produces 132 horsepower; all other trims are equipped with a 158 hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Available transmissions include a five-speed manual, four-speed automatic and a five-speed automatic with manual shift control. Every Matrix is outfitted with a comprehensive group of safety features, including front side-impact airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, front active head restraints and anti-lock disc brakes; Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), including traction control and brake assist, is standard on the XRS and optional on all other trims.

The all-new 2009 Matrix is Toyota's second generation of this dynamic Corolla-based hatchback.

FJ Cruiser

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is the rebirth of the Toyota FJ 40, better known in North America as the original Land Cruiser. A capable off-roader, it will go wherever you want to go no matter what the terrain.

The FJ Cruiser comes in one model with a choice of three drivetrains. A rear-wheel-drive version equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, a part-time four-wheel-drive version with a five-speed automatic transmission, or a full-time four-wheel-drive version with a six-speed manual transmission. All versions are powered by a 239 hp 4.0-liter V-6 engine. The FJ Cruiser seats up to five passengers. Safety features include Toyota's STAR Safety System that includes anti-spin Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. Dual-stage front airbags, side-curtain and front-seat side airbags are standard.

The 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser is a carryover from 2007 with now standard side-curtain and front-seat side airbags.

Redesigned for 2008 the Land Cruiser can seat up to eight passengers, and has the Tundra's 381 hp 5.7-liter V8 engine - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard. The Land Cruiser has a new feature from Toyota called "Crawl Control". Driving at low speeds on rough or steep terrain, the Crawl Control system automatically controls the vehicle's engine and brakes so that the driver can focus on steering. The Land Cruiser boasts the most airbags found in any Toyota - ten - and comes standard with the following safety features: four-wheel antilock brakes, brake assist, active traction control, tire-pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability control, and active front headrests for whiplash protection.

For 2008, the new Toyota Land Cruiser gets more power and more features.
